How loyalty points work
Configure Buzz Points, award them on purchases or approved receipts, and redeem them on eligible store items.
Buzz Points reward members for spending and give the community control over the value of earning and redemption.
Configure the programme
Open Admin → Loyalty and set:
- Whether the programme is enabled.
- How much a member must spend to earn one point.
- How much one point is worth when redeemed.
- The minimum number of points required for a redemption.
The same area can enable receipt scanning, set receipt limits and review bonus or double-points rules. Partner receipt matching is configured against a partnership record.
Earning points
Members earn points on completed qualifying store purchases made through web checkout or POS. When receipt scanning is enabled, a member can also submit a shop receipt; the configured receipt checks and approval rules decide whether points are awarded.
Points are stored in a ledger, so an adjustment, earn and redemption remain traceable rather than replacing a single unexplained balance.
Redeeming points
Current redemption is available at POS and in supported mobile order flows. The discount is limited by the member's balance, the configured point value, the minimum redemption and the eligible amount in the basket. The public web shop does not currently show a points-redemption control.
Products are redeemable by default. Open a product and clear Loyalty points redeemable on this product when points must not be used against it. Ineligible items remain payable even when the same basket contains eligible products.
The event editor also displays a loyalty-redemption setting, but event-ticket checkout does not currently apply points. Do not advertise ticket redemption until that checkout path supports it.
