Session credits, top-ups and check-in

Session credits can come from a session-pass offering or from a membership that includes a fixed allowance per billing period. An unlimited membership records an eligible visit without reducing a balance.

Create and grant credits

For a pack, create a Session pass offering and enter the credits supplied. Credits from a paid purchase are granted only after the payment is verified. For a recurring membership, choose Classes included per billing period and enter the allowance; successful renewal expires the previous period balance and grants the new period allowance exactly once.

Rollover is not implemented: the dependable recurring behaviour is a period reset. A credit also does not remain spendable after its underlying holding becomes inactive or passes its effective end date.

Top-ups are limited to a current, paid, unreleased session-pass holding. Payment verification, the expected pack size and price, and the credit grant are replay-safe so a callback cannot grant the same top-up twice.

Where credits are spent

• A confirmed class booking normally uses one credit unless an unlimited membership covers it.
• An appointment uses the credit cost configured on its appointment type.
• Admin → Sessions lets staff check a person in and atomically burn one credit, or record an unlimited visit.
• Configured scanner or geofence check-in can deduct automatically.

Session check-in serialises concurrent requests for the same member. The first request records the visit and, where applicable, spends one credit; another check-in inside the six-hour duplicate window returns the existing visit without spending again. This guard applies even when the member has more than one eligible pack.

Audit and corrections

Every grant, use, expiry, refund and adjustment is written to the credit ledger with the balance change. Timely class or appointment cancellation can return a spent credit. A purchase refund can claw back credits granted by that payment, proportionally for a partial refund and capped by the unused balance.

When a balance looks wrong, inspect the holding and ledger before applying an owner adjustment. The balance and ledger are changed in one database operation; editing only a displayed total is not a supported correction.
