Checking permits at the gate

The tear-off stub and permit PDF carry a QR code. A gate marshal scans it with the phone camera and opens a read-only verification page; no special scanner is required.

Read the verdict first

The page checks the community, permit, selected visit date and withdrawal state. Possible warnings include Not today, No date on this permit, withdrawn or otherwise invalid access. Do not admit somebody based only on the appearance of a QR code.

The verdict can be read without changing the record. Opening or refreshing the page never increments an entry counter.

Record the actual admission

Choose Admit only when the person is physically entering. Enter the community's marshal code when required. A signed-in manager of that community can record the admission without the shared code.

The marshal can add a name and correct the headcount. A successful admission stores the time, headcount, authorisation method and optional free-text marshal name. It does not store a reliable manager user ID. Future scans show recent admission history newest first and show the marshal name only when one was entered; several deliberate admissions can therefore be visible.

With no configured marshal code, the action remains available to a holder of the permit link and the entry is marked unverified. This preserves the operational record without pretending it was an authorised gate decision.

Permit QR versus boom credential

The QR proves and records the day permit at a staffed point. The ATG code and PIN operate the external boom. They are related to the same visit but are not interchangeable, and scanning one does not automatically create the other.
