Set up, negotiate and sign a partnership
Create an agreement with a business, community or external partner, record proposals and activate it with both signatures.
A partnership record keeps the commercial terms, discussion, proposals and two parties' acceptance together. It can represent a platform business, another community or an external organisation.
Partnerships are available when the community has the Partner Requests capability, included from the Flying tier by default or granted by an override. If the plan includes it but Partners is hidden, restore the module under Admin → Settings → Modules. “Partner Requests” is the capability name; it is not an inbound marketplace where businesses initiate requests.
Create the agreement
Open Admin → Partners → Partnerships and add:
- Partner type and business-directory record when applicable.
- Partner name and contact email.
- Agreement title and summary.
- Proposed revenue-share percentage, flat fee, currency and optional start and end dates.
A new agreement begins as Draft. These headline terms describe the agreement but do not automatically publish a member deal or invoice anybody.
Negotiate the current terms
Open the agreement to add a proposal and keep a discussion log. A proposal records who proposed it, revenue share, fee, dates and a note. The partner does not currently have a negotiation portal, so use Log partner reply for a conversation that happened outside JollyBee and record a partner proposal on their behalf.
Accepting a proposal makes those its current terms and moves the agreement to Proposed. A new proposal resets both signatures and invalidates any outstanding partner sign link, preventing an old link from accepting stale terms.
Collect both signatures
The community signs from the agreement page. For the partner:
- Add a contact email and choose Email sign link. The partner can review and accept without a JollyBee account.
- A sign link is valid for 14 days. Sending a fresh link replaces the old one.
- If email is not configured or delivery fails, the secure URL remains visible for an admin to copy and share safely.
- If the agreement was signed elsewhere, Record offline agreement records the partner acceptance instead.
The agreement becomes Active only when both community and partner signatures exist for the same current terms. One signature leaves it Proposed.
Status after signing
- Active — the signed agreement is live.
- Paused — temporarily stopped without removing its history.
- Ended — finished; its invoices and record remain available.
- Declined — rejected during Draft or Proposed.
Dates do not replace status controls. Check the term dates and end or pause the record deliberately when the real relationship changes.
